Hi, I’m Sara (she/her), owner and Clinical Director of Connected Roots Therapy. I work with children, teens, families, and adults navigating trauma, stress, big life transitions, and health-related challenges. I believe healing happens through safe, supportive relationships—and that feeling seen, understood, and connected is where real change begins.

Living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) has shaped both who I am and how I work as a therapist. I bring this lived experience, alongside my professional training, into sessions—especially when supporting children, teens, and caregivers navigating T1D. My goal is to help clients feel less alone, more understood, and better resourced as they move through their healing journeys.

When working with children and teens, I value caregiver involvement and see therapy as a collaborative process that strengthens connection, trust, and understanding within families. My work is grounded in attachment-based therapy and somatic approaches, and I often incorporate play, art, music, and sand tray techniques to support emotional expression and healing.

As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and Certified Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapist (DDP), I integrate body-focused approaches to help regulate the nervous system, process trauma, and build more secure, connected relationships.

Outside the therapy room, I stay grounded through time in nature, meaningful connections, trying new activities, and yoga. These practices reflect how I show up in my work—slowing down, listening deeply, and focusing on what truly matters.

If you’re looking for a trauma-informed therapist for children, teens, families, or adults, I’d be glad to connect. Please reach out to Connected Roots Therapy to see if working together feels like the right fit.
