Offering In-Person Sessions for Children, Youth & Families

Hi there! I’m Danielle (she/her), a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who is passionate about helping children, teens, adults, and families feel supported, understood, and empowered in their growth and healing. At Connected Roots Therapy, I strive to create a warm, inclusive, and compassionate space where clients can explore their experiences, strengthen relationships, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for them.

I enjoy working with individuals across the lifespan and from diverse cultural backgrounds, and I am committed to providing an affirming and welcoming space for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals. I believe that care should be accessible, respectful, and responsive to each person's unique experiences and identity.

As someone living with Type 2 Diabetes, I also bring lived experience to my work with individuals and families navigating chronic illness, health-related stress, and the emotional impact that medical conditions can have on daily life, relationships, and well-being. This perspective allows me to approach this work with both professional knowledge and personal understanding.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent more than five years working in child welfare and in the fields of family and gender-based violence. These experiences shaped my trauma-informed lens and deepened my commitment to helping people feel safe, seen, and supported as they navigate life's challenges.

My approach is attachment-based, trauma-informed, and relational. I draw from Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-informed), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT-informed), and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP Level 1) to support clients in building coping skills, deepening self-understanding, and creating lasting change aligned with their values and goals.

Outside of the therapy room, you'll often find me baking, reading, travelling, or exploring new places with my Australian Shepherd, Franklin. My curiosity about people, stories, and relationships continues to inspire the authenticity, compassion, and connection I bring to my work with clients every day.
